EPSLO 2: Use the nursing process to make nursing judgments supported by evidence in order to deliver safe, high-quality patient care throughout the lifespan. Mastering the nursing process - assessment, diagnosis, planning, execution, and evaluation - to deliver evidence-based care was required to achieve
EPSLO 2. Each step is critical in ensuring that patient treatment is thorough and personalized (Bucks County Community college, 2023). For example, during the evaluation process, I learnt to collect detailed patient data, such as health history and cultural factors. The approach of the nursing process and the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Model is a fundamental differentiation. The nursing process is more linear, while the NCSBN model stresses clinical judgment's dynamic and developing character (Ashouri & Elahi, 2018). In a fast- paced healthcare setting, adhering to the clinical judgment paradigm is vital because it supports continual learning, critical thinking, and adaptation.
EPSLO 3: Use management and delegation concepts to execute care plans with intraprofessional team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.
A thorough comprehension of the registered nurse's role in delegation was necessary to achieve EPSLO 3. Effective delegation is more than just assigning tasks; it also entails giving clear instructions, maintaining responsibility, and ensuring patient safety (Dorri & Farahani, 2019). As a nurse, I understand the value of supervision and management while assigning responsibilities to support personnel. Delegation requires effective communication, which contributes to a smooth and safe care environment (Bucks County Community college, 2023). Delegation becomes a collaborative endeavor that improves patient outcomes by promoting open lines of communication, defining expectations, and ensuring that information flows effectively.
